Our mission statements

Marga's Mixer is a singles party for queers of all genders, with flirtation and libations.

Marga says You know I love two things: the ladies and The Castro. But this party isn't about me. It's just named after me. It's about our single guests like you. It's your enchanted evening to flirt and be flirted with in a romantic setting, under flattering lighting, with passionate DJ beats and plenty of LIQUOR when all else fails!!

We aren't throwing Marga's Mixer to hit on our guests or for the $27 dollars we'll split after expenses. We're doing it because sexy single GLBTQ people have been denied Valentine's Day festivities for too long. O'DJ and Marga Gomez will turn that shit around. And we won't stop till 11 o'clock. See you 2/14/06!

O'DJ says: I wonder about those "essay guys" on craigslist. You know, the ones who post 500-word essays in craigslist men for men, talking about how "I know this probably isn't the place to be looking, but I want someone who enjoys poetry, long walks on the beach...". They're hard to miss among the 2-line postings littered with terms like "PnP" and "UB2". I picture the rest of us trolling the craigslist bathhouse dressed only in towels while these essay guys are wearing street clothes and holding a nice bottle of cabernet and two glasses.

This event is a chance for each of us to be an essay guy, to put on our clothes and come out and talk about poetry and art, prove that we actually are 'boyfriend material'. Or hang with friends and pretend we're not interested, but keep our eyes peeled. Or stay committed to the single life, have a few drinks, listen to music, and flirt. Remember, unlike craigslist, this party will be in color.
